Colombian UH-1 helicopters collide, 5 killed

The Colombian Air Force has said that five crew, including a Mexican student pilot, were killed when two of its UH-1 Huey helicopters collided in mid-air over central Colombia. Four other crewmen were injured in the accident, which occurred on a training mission.

Colombia accepts 767 tanker from IAI

Israel Aerospace Industries has delivered the Boeing 767 that it has converted as a tanker for the Colombian air force. The company purchased the used airliner and converted it with a hose and drogue refuelling system and a cargo door.

Colombian Kfir crashes, pilots safe

The Colombian Air Force has lost a two-seat IAI Kfir fighter during a training flight late last month. Both pilots ejected safely, with engine failure being the cited as the cause of the crash.

Israel Aircraft Industries have concluded tests on a Boeing 767 for the Fuerza Aerea Colombia (Colombian Air Force). The tanker is to support the Colombia AF's IAI Kfir fighter-bombers.

Colombia signs up for KC-390 development; intends to order 12

Colombia has joined Chile and Brazil in signing up for the development and production of the Embraer KC-390 tanker/transport aircraft. It has an eventual requirement for 12 aircraft.
