Global Hawk goes hurricane hunting

A NASA Global Hawk UAV has completed a 24-hour long mission to study Hurricane Earl off the US Eastern seaboard. The UAV operated from NASA's Dryden research facility and overflew the hurricane eight times in nine hours.
