China in talks with potential JF-17 customers

China is in discussions about selling the FC-1/JF-17 Thunder fighter to up to eight countries. The third-generation, single-engine fighter, jointly developed by Pakistan and China, is being pitched as a replacement for older fighters such as the MiG-21 and F-5

  1. Opinions about the PRC govt aside, i must say that their military aviation industry is truly going through a Golden Age now. Just in terms of fighter aircraft, no other country comes close in terms of variety: J-8, JH-7, JF-17, J-10, J-15. Really gonna give the Russians, and eventually US, a run for their money!

  2. It might be a while, but OTOH, the are achieveing a lot within a much tighter time frame. Although it can be argued thats because they are already traveling down a beaten path.
