Ellsworth B-1s undertake intercontinental mission to strike Libya

With less than two days from first notice to takeoff, B-1B Lancers from the 28th Bomb Wing launched from their home station of Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota, to strike targets in Libya. This mission marks the first time B-1s have launched combat sorties from the continental United States to strike targets overseas.
