PLAAF Badgers play icebreaker using bombs

Photos have emerged of a PLAAF mission in early March using H-6 bombers (Tu-16 Badgers) to drop bombs in an attempt to break up a build-up of ice on the Yellow River near Ordos, Inner Mongolia. Three H-6s dropped 24 500-kg bombs during the mission, which is reported elsewhere to be a normal practice at the end of winter.

  1. Wish there was a video. Btw, are you missing a verb before "build-up"?

  2. Just demonstrated a perfect example of why doing things when half-asleep at work is a bad idea. :)
