Russian Naval strike aircraft to be transferred to RuAF

In a sweeping reorganisation, the Russian Navy's strike aircraft will be transferred to the Russian Air Force's inventory by the end of this year. Assets affected include Tu-22M3 Backfires, MiG-31 Foxhounds, Su-27 Flankers, and most of the Navy's Su-24 Fencer attack aircraft. Carrier-based aircraft and land-based ASW aircraft will still however come under control of the Navy.
