VIDEO: Ex Kiwi Flag 2012 [HD]

Held at the Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) base at Whenuapai, Exercise Kiwi Flag is a multilateral, tactical air mobility exercise which aims to improve the interoperability and partnership of the participating nations. The RNZAF is exercising with international air force partners on their way to the Air Force Air Show at Ohakea Air Base on Saturday 31 March. This video by the New Zealand Defence Force, gives us an insight into the exercise.

Countries involved in the exercise, which is based in Auckland are the French Armed Forces of New Caledonia (CASA CN235), Republic of Singapore Air Force (C-130H Hercules), Royal Australian Air Force (C-130J Hercules), the United States Air Force (C-17 Globemaster III) and the United States Marine Corps (KC-130J Hercules). The host nation is taking part with it's C-130H Hercules.

The exercise sees fixed wing tactical training comprising low level flying and airdrop of cargo and personnel to Kaipara and Raumai Air Weapons Range.

The exercise forms a key part of readiness training for the New Zealand Defence Force and its international partners and runs from March 24 to April 5.

South Korea denies it will accept CN-235s as payment for T-50s

Reports in the Indonesian media that South Korea will accept Indonesian CN-235 transports as part payment for KAI T-50 trainers destined for Indonesia have been denied. South Korea already operates 20 CN-235s, including eight originally built in Indonesia.

Jordan selects ATK to convert CN-235s into gunships/ISR platforms

Jordan has awarded ATK a contract to outfit two Royal Jordanian Air Force CASA CN-235 transports into gunships/ISR platforms. The armament package is likely to consist of Hellfire laser-guided missiles, 2.75-inch rockets, and a M230 30mm chain gun.

Airbus plans 28 military deliveries in 2011, including first A330 MRTTs

Airbus Military is targeting 28 military aircraft deliveries in 2011 including the first six KC-330 tanker transports. However the first handover of the KC-30A tanker to lead-customer, the Royal Australian Air Force, has still not been set. The company also expects to deliver 22 smaller transports, the C-295 and CN-235, this year

Elisra wins RoKAF contract for CN-235 protection system

Elisra Electronic Systems Ltd. has won a contract to supply the Korean Government’s CN-235 transports with Airborne Electronic Warfare Suites and Missile Warning Systems. The ROKAF operates total of 24 CN-235s in different configurations.
