A400M, KC-390 to reshape transport market

With the winding down and possibly eventual cessation of C-17 production on the horizon, Flightglobal reckons that the Airbus A400M and Embraer KC-390 are well-placed to capture the strategic airlift market. However the challenge facing both designs is the relatively niche nature of the market for large airlifters.

Colombia signs up for KC-390 development; intends to order 12

Colombia has joined Chile and Brazil in signing up for the development and production of the Embraer KC-390 tanker/transport aircraft. It has an eventual requirement for 12 aircraft.

Chile strikes development deal with Embraer, may buy KC-390

Chile has signed a deal with Embraer of Brazil for joint development of the KC-390 transport. The deal also includes a possible puchase of six KC-390s by the Chilean Air Force.
