Morocco's first T-6C trainers head for home

Four Beechcraft T-6C trainers have departed the manufacturer's Wichita site in Kansas for delivery to the African nation. The aircraft were transferred carrying their Royal Moroccan Air Force markings, and are the first of 24 aircraft ordered.

T-6B gets retro colours for US naval aviation centenary

The latest US Navy aircraft to carry a retro paint scheme is a new T-6B Texan II trainer delivered by Hawker Beechcraft in a special colour scheme to commemorate the Centenary of Naval Aviation. The aircraft is in a orange-yellow paint scheme, reminiscent of trainer aircraft from the 1940s and 1950s.

High tech systems turn T-6 into formidable light attack platform

The Air National Guard Air Force Reserve Command Test Center is transforming the Raytheon AT-6C Texan II into a low cost light attack platform after integrating advanced technologies from the A-10 and F-16 into the advanced trainer. Future plans include integrating weapons such as the AIM-9 Sidewinder and AGM-114 Hellfire missiles onto the platform.

USAF T-6A Texan II crashes

A T-6A Texan II assigned to the 47th Flying Training Wing crashed on Sept. 24 near Spofford, Texas. Both crew ejected successfully. The aircraft was based at Laughlin AFB, Texas.
