First helicopters land on Spanish carrier

While on an Operational Evaluation cruise, the Spanish Navy carrier Juan Carlos I has operated its first aircraft with a Sea King helicopter becoming the first aircraft to land on its deck. AV-8B+ Harriers are expected to carry out their deck trials with the ship soon after.

Spanish Harrier upgrade project completes prototype test flights

Sweden and Spain go with S-70 family.

The Sikorsky S-70 family of helicopters are still popular with armed forces round the world. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency DSCA has notified the US Congress that Sweden is likely to purchase 15 UH-60M Blackhawk helicopters, while at the same time Spain is purchasing 6 refurbished SH-60F Seahawks.
